If you are interested in joining the club, your first step is to take this course. The Eastern Ontario Handgun Club's safety courses are conducted at the club's range by Canadian Shooting
Sports Association certified instructors
whenever there is sufficient demand (usually monthly).
While firearms are provided for the firearms safety courses, the Club does not
store guns on site, so members will need their own firearms for
regular shooting.
If nobody confirms their attendance with the
designated instructor for a scheduled safety course, the training course will be
cancelled. Please be considerate of our volunteer instructors and be sure to let
the instructor know if you have to cancel your attendance.

Here's what you will need to bring along with you: -
- A check payable to the EOHC for the amount of your prorated membership fee. The table to the right gives the amount
payable for a single membership in the Club, based upon the month in which you join. In the last quarter of the year the membership fee
includes the coming year. For a family membership just add $10 to the single member price
- Another check for $40 payable to the CSSA for a single membership in that organization or $70 for a family membership (please complete and print the online CSSA application).
- $10 cash to cover the course expenses
- A black pen (to fill out your application and the request for an Authorization to Transport -
which the OPP may return if it is not filled out in BLACK and done so NEATLY)
- Your Firearms Licence, if you have one. If you don't have one, we can help explain the process.
- A beverage, in case you get thirsty.
- Safety glasses, sunglasses or regular eye glasses.
- Bug repellent to ward off mosquitos and West Nile Virus
- Directions & a map to the EOHC - so you don't get lost
The EOHC course includes an introduction to the facilities and procedures used at our club, safety
rules, handgun operation, live fire of revolvers and semi-automatic
pistols on the range and a Safety Exam. If you
have friends/family members who might be interested, you'll want to bring
them too. If you don't want to join at the course, that's OK because all you have to pay is the $5 for your ammunition.

Membership in the Canadian Shooting
Sports Association (formerly Ontario Handgun Association) is mandatory for members of the Club.
The CSSA provides members with $2,000,000 liability insurance to cover their shooting activities and offers a variety of
training and competition programs.
